The Office of the Chief Coroner (OCC) is seeking 2 qualified individuals to join the Domestic Violence Death Review Committee (DVDRC) as members.
The DVDRC is a multidisciplinary advisory committee dedicated to preventing intimate partner violence and homicide. Members come from diverse fields, including community advocacy, healthcare, academia, law, policing, public policy, research, social work, and community leadership.
The committee reviews intimate partner violence-related deaths after the coroner’s initial investigation is complete, and develops recommendations to help prevent future deaths.
Who should apply?
The DVDRC is looking for candidates with:
Demonstrated expertise in intimate partner violence or related fields
A strong commitment to ending intimate partner violence
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Fluency in English
Ability to review complex case materials and contribute to group analysis
Professional integrity, confidentiality, and sound judgment
Experience working collaboratively in multidisciplinary settings
Commitment Members meet approximately 3 times per year, through a mix of in-person and virtual sessions. Each meeting is approximately 6 hours.
Members are also expected to complete work between meetings, including assigned case reviews, report development, evidence-informed recommendations, and possible subcommittee work.
Compensation
Members are currently compensated:
$750 for preparation of a case review and/or report
$100/hour for meeting attendance
