The Asian Initiative in Mental Health (AIM) was founded in 2002 to provide culturally and linguistically responsive mental health care for Asian communities in the GTA. For many, AIM was more than a clinic, but a place where care could happen in someone’s language, culture, family, identity, and recovery.

On June 18, 2025, AIM was abruptly closed without consultation with patients, families, community partners, or internal staff. One year has passed, and we still remember what AIM meant, and we continue to advocate for culturally responsive mental health care.

Today, we invite you to lay a flower and leave a message in memory of this place of care that meant so much to Asian communities in the GTA.
