🏳️‍⚧️Transgender Awareness Week: Day1

On day one, we start off sharing the special event for Trans Day of Remembrance (TDoR) and other trans-focused resources from our community partner, The 519.

Grieving the Past to Protect our Future

The 519 commemorates the 25th anniversary of the Trans Day of Remembrance (TDoR). Join us to honour the lives of the 2 Spirit, trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse siblings we have lost to transphobia, hate crimes, illness, substance use, suicide, misogyny, institutional and legislative violence, and murder.

Our 2024 theme "Grieving the Past to Protect our Future" speaks about the profound grief that marks our collective past. In grieving together, we draw community strength and comfort. In acknowledging the hardships, losses, and resilience of 2 Spirit, trans, non-binary and gender-diverse people who came before us, our commitment to fight for a safer world and collective future is renewed. Our collective grief is not just a remembrance. It is a call to action.Join us in solidarity by attending in person or virtually.
